Got this as a wedding present and WOW. Coffee tastes great, stays hot a long time, and for the reviews about pouring problems, only happens when you tip the pot almost completely over. There is an internal lip inside the pot that if you pur too fast it goes over that lip and that is when you have pouring problem. I have used the pot everyday for more than 4 weeks with no errors what so ever. I would highly recommend this product.

Purchased this coffeemaker recently and have so far been pleased. The machine design is neat and sleek, and the pot has a nice shape, comfortable handle and pours well. The hole for the water reservoir is small, but I am adjusting to it. Overall a nice product.

I had been searching and searching for this coffee maker at stores and eventually found it. Plus it matches the appliances in my home. Hamilton Beach lives up to its stellar name and works without a hitch. To bad I can't give it additional stars.

This coffee maker seemed a bit difficult at first but we thought we could put up with it until it started leaking more and more each day. Somewhere water is leaking out the bottom after you fill the resevoir. And we've never even made a whole pot. Doesn't matter how little coffee we tried to make, it still leaks! Returned this maker last week and got a much cheaper one that works great.

I thought this was a great coffeemaker when I wrote my original review. Now I now better.
The carafe leaks because the deal between the glass and the plastic ring is faulty. I tried calling HB about it and they told me that I could send them a check for [..] to replace it. I thought maybe I could just pour from the side -- nope, seal is bad there too.
The lid, which snaps on, just asks to be broken. And yes, it is broken. The whole unit now leaks when we brew coffee, so I am pitching it and getting a new one.

I purchased this coffee machine last week after staying up forever trying to decide which coffee maker to get. There are lots of things I like about this one-- looks nice, auto shut off, coffee pot opening large so it's easy to clean, coffee is hot enough, and coffee pot did not drip when pouring. For all of these reasons, I was very excited, BUT... the coffee was weak!! The most important thing about a coffee maker should be the taste of the coffee, and in my experience, this coffee maker makes very weak coffee. Of course, I tried adding more grinds (MUCH more), but each time the coffee came out the same. So, despite it's good points, I've decided that I can't live with that. So, I'm starting my seach for a different machine.

Not worth the price

Machine is very tall, making it difficult to fill. The opening to the water reservoir is too narrow to fill without spilling water, either outside the machine or into the grounds basket. When replacing the pot, it catches on the pause & serve device. Also, some coffee grounds always make it into the pot - apparently, the basket overflows during brewing.
After using this for only a month, I put it in a yard sale and bought a different coffeemaker altogether.

Great Coffee maker for the price

I just picked up one of these yesterday and it seems to brew coffee stronger than my expensive grind n' brew with the "strong" button pushed. I use 4 Tablespoons of grounds for 8 cups of coffee and it has good flavor. I don't really like the style of the carafe pour spout as much as the all glass ones, however I do like the stainless steel and shape of the coffee maker itself. Great deal!

I should have paid attention to the bad reviews! I tried about 10 different ways to pour and each time the pot leaked about 1/4 cup of coffee from under the rim.

What a disappoinment after reading the other reviews. The caraffe has a major design flaw, and the coffee dribbles down the side of the caraffe when pouring. It's going back today.
